Seek Justice

Making the World a Just and Equitable Place

By becoming agents of change.

As the first racially integrated church in Virginia, UUFP remains deeply committed to social justice. Our principles affirm the inherent worth and dignity of each person and urge us to seek justice, equity, and compassion in human relations. Our Social and Environmental Justice (S&EJ) Committee raises awareness and fosters advocacy by facilitating social action within and beyond our church. We join together in support of human rights, an equitable distribution of resources, a healthy planet, democracy, and a space for the human spirit to flourish.

UUFP members and friends carry banners at the Mass Moral March.

Watch: 10 Years of Love and Liberation with the UUA

Sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association, Side with Love is an interfaith public advocacy campaign that seeks to harness love’s power to end oppression.

Racial justice isn’t our only passion. We also advocate for women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, voting rights, workers’ rights, child safety, climate action, fair and affordable housing, and food for the hungry. In addition, we share our offering basket with local non-profits that are committed to these causes. Visit our giving page with Vanco to see our current Share the Basket partners.
