You Did It (and more)! UUFP Rallies to Address Hunger in our Community!

Less than three weeks ago, the UUFP Foodbank Team put out a critical call to action to our Fellowship to help feed individuals and families on the Virginia Peninsula who are experiencing food insecurity—a condition exacerbated by inflation and the pandemic!

In record time…

You did it (and more)!

Thus far (as of this publication), you have responded to this need by contributing $1,094.25 and nearly 200 food items! Your generous donations met (and exceeded) the Endowment Trustees’ challenge, so the Endowment Fund's $500 matching grant has been added to your generous cash gifts, totaling a (rounded-up) sum of $1,600!

There is still time to help our neighbors in need. Financial gifts can be made by check (payable to the “UUFP" with a "Foodbank” memo) or online via “Help Solve Hunger. You may also continue to drop off canned goods and other non-perishable items at the UUFP Sanctuary.

Thanks to each and every donor and to Trustees Judy Remsberg, Roy Schilling and Mason Moseley for the matching gift incentive and their leadership in launching this food drive. The food and financial gifts will soon be delivered to the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank. This will help replenish depleted pantry shelves of the FoodBank and its partnering help organizations, who in turn minister to those struggling without sufficient food.

You did it...and more! Many thanks!
