As we welcome all to worship, Pastor Andrew Millard lights the chalice representing "the light of reason, the warmth of community, and the flame of hope." The flaming chalice is a primary symbol of the Unitarian Universalist faith tradition. Many UU congregations kindle a flaming chalice in gatherings and worships and feature the chalice symbol prominently.
Upcoming Services – sermons preached by Rev. Andrew Clive Millard unless otherwise noted.
How are You "Worth-shaping" in Your Life?
Etymology! Studying the origin of words and their evolving meanings through history enlarges the mind and provides much insight. Derived from the Old English, “weorthscipe,” the term “worship” literally means “worth-ship” or “worth-shape.” “Worthship” gives shape to what is worthy/is the quality of having worth. How expansive “worship” could be and is in our day to day lives—going far beyond the traditional perspective of what occurs during a service in a church or other customary place of worship.
