Welcome Our Newest Members: Martie and Barry Coy

We are grateful for the Coys joining our UUFP community!  Welcome!

Martie and Barry Coy were recognized as our newest members during the UUFP Sunday service on September 25, 2022.

Martie (she/her) is a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, Nana, nurse, and now UU 🙂! She has two children of her own, Ellen, 30, Arthur, 25, and four with her wonderful husband, Barry. Ellen has two children, hence the "Nana" reference. In addition to her love of family, Martie committedly served as a nurse for 25-plus years. She loves to garden with Barry, particularly in the raised vegetable and herb beds that he built, and love on their crazy pups (Annie, the Beagle, and Chico, the Chihuahua) that you may have seen in some Zoom Sunday worship sessions. Learning about UU history has become a real interest, as well, lately. She looks forward to becoming more involved in different aspects of the church and getting to know everyone more.

Barry is Martie’s husband and father to their six children and five grandchildren of their blended family. Presently (and for the past 12 years), he works for AT&T as a service manager for federal government customers. He enjoys collecting comic books, doing puzzles, playing with the dogs and cat, reading and gardening.

Martie and Barry moved to Newport News in late 2019, BC (before COVID) to be closer to some of their family, although they have family up much of the eastern coast.

Welcome, Marti and Barry, to our UUFP family!
