UUFP Planning Pulpit Minute – May 2021

Thanks to the Fellowship's Planning Committee for providing periodic updates on the UUFP Expansion progress via these Pulpit Minutes delivered during Sunday Service and UUFP publications.

The Planning Committee met with the Policy Board to discuss the space requirements for a new building based upon our vision.

Parker Stokes created a chart called UUFP Plan Building Vision Summary. It shows the size of our current facilities and compares it to the space we will need going forward to create minimal, moderate and strong growth. This document also compares our size to our neighbor congregations in Williamsburg and Virginia Beach and should help as we see and consider other buildings. Please ask a member of the Planning Committee if you would like a copy of this chart.

Two members of our committee are working with Mark Ewert on the stewardship team in advance of the capital campaign, which the board is planning for October of this year.

Our office administrator Kay is getting estimates on necessary building repairs in advance of listing our property for sale.

Our grounds look unattended. Please reach out to Roy Schilling, or stop by and pull some weeds in the flower beds.

A clean up of the grounds is scheduled for June 12, 2021, in advance of our church yard sale on June 19.

We are continuing to research potential rental property/space sharing should we sell our building before we find new space.
