Social Justice. Social Responsibility

Being part of the solution

In affirming the UUA’s Seven Principles, many would declare that Social Justice is the heartbeat of our faith. At our core, we honor the inherent worth and dignity of each person and seek justice, equity and compassion in human relations. Our UUFP Social and Environmental Justice (S&EJ) Committee raises awareness and fosters adocacy by facilitating social action within and beyond our church. Striving to live our UU principles, we join together in support of human rights, an equitable distribution of resources, a healthy planet, democracy, and a space for the human spirit to thrive.

As Unitarian Universalists (UUs), our dedication to global justice, equity, and dignity leads us to join hands across lines of race, class, age, and geography and work for an end to the injustices faced by our communities, so that every person is treated equally under the law and has a fair chance at life. Sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association, Side with Love is an interfaith public advocacy campaign that seeks to harness love’s power to stop oppression.
