The Rev. Andrew Clive Millard

This Summer is all about the three magic “S”s that we, as a faith community, need to provide our children, our families and our members of all ages to connect to our deepest inner lives, our congregation and the joy of life around us: service to others; silence and mindfulness; sunshine and movement.  Each of our Sunday services will align with Soul Matters’s “Magic Summer” curriculum through storytelling, wondering, exploring and sharing.  We’ll also be building our “Promises Wall” as we think about what we want to include in our congregational covenant.  Join us!

July 3rd: “Seeds for the Sowing”

How can we help make the world a better place?   One way is to plant seeds, both actual flower seeds and the seeds of our values, so that our world can be beautiful for everyone.

July 10th: “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?”

Every time it rains, we know the flowers and plants are getting nourished and our own source of water is being replenished.  But have you ever wondered what it would be like not to have clean, safe water?

July 17th: “A Passion for Discerning”

As Unitarian Universalists, we know that there’s always something new to discover, always more to learn.  We’re on a free and responsible search for truth and meaning!

July 24th: “All Creatures Great And Small”

Pets can bring us so much joy, comfort and companionship.  Yet so many animals live lives of suffering.  How can we show compassion to all creatures great and small?

July 31st: “Trust the Wisdom”

How can we make the world a better place?  We can offer kindness and compassion, remembering that we are glad for everyone’s gifts as we love and care for one another.

August 7th: “Respect the Water, Land and Air”

As Unitarian Universalists, we know that we are part of the interdependent web of life.  So let’s look after our Mother Earth and the miraculous magic of this planetary home!

August 14th: “How Sweet the Darkness”

There is so much in our lives that smells and tastes and feels good.  How can we share the goodness of these experiences and express our gratitude for them with one another?

August 21st: “Care of the Soul”

We know it’s hard to help other people without making ourselves the center of attention.  If we can learn to take care of our own needs, then we can center those we’re helping.

August 28th: “Start with Love”

How can we make the world a better place?  We do that by being of service to others, by practicing silence and mindfulness, and by sharing the joys of sunshine and movement!
