May 21, 2017: Love Knows No “Other”

Athena Krafft's Sunday Morning Forum* reinforced that knowledge coupled with boundless love is a conduit to cross any divide. Displaying courage and candor, this expressive individual opened the doors to conversation on gender identity, with particular focus on transgenderism.

Affirming the inherent worth and dignity of every person and justice, compassion and acceptance in human relations, UUFP members hunger for instruction on this sensitive and important topic. How essential to grow in awareness and understanding of the diversity that exists among us as we strive to live out our UU principles.

And this rising, first-year CalArts student helped equip us to do just that! Athena demonstrated initiative and wisdom beyond her years by expanding our minds and broadening our vocabulary on this challenging subject.

“Love has no gender - compassion has no religion - character has no race.”-Abhijit Naskar. May our love language be not "us" and them"—but "we"!
