Sunday Service: “There Must Be Religious Witness”
From 10:30 am to 12:00 pm- 757-369-1098 Call
Presented by Rev. Andrew Millard Amidst a global pandemic that has killed 100,000 Americans, with disproportionate impacts on African-Americans due to long-standing economic and social inequities, racial injustice was brought front and center when George Floyd was murdered on camera by a Minneapolis police officer. There have been protests all over the country and beyond, and in many places the militarization of police departments has resulted in further violence and death. And rather than offering consolation or promising justice, a cowardly president has threatened further escalation while abusing both church and scripture for a photo opportunity. We are called to mourn the loss of Black lives, to challenge white supremacy (including our own), to support Black resistance, and to recommit to living our UU values. What: We are holding Sunday services via Zoom! You can begin connecting at 10:30 a.m. to check your computer set-up and for introductions, and the service itself will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. When: Every Sunday, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Where/To Connect: https://zoom.us/j/920676087?pwd=UWFYV2c4SG5jVmJKZEpRRUNTUGZrUT09 Meeting ID: 920 676 087 One tap mobile: +1646-876-9923 Wish to see, read or listen to the sermons?
