Sunday Service: “To Make or Declare Holy”
From 10:30 am to 12:00 pm- 757-369-1098 Call
Presented by Scott Kasmire Some religions have practitioners who take “holy vows” or are otherwise inducted into exclusive religious orders. Followers of these special lifestyles are said to lead “consecrated lives”, and we imagine them to be especially devout. Protestantism in general, and Unitarian Universalism in particular, have rejected this way in favor of a more universal devotion. So what then does it mean for a Unitarian Universalist to be devout? Scott Kasmire has been a Unitarian Universalist since the mid-1990s and a UUFP member since 2014. He studied philosophy and religion for several years as a graduate student in Bangkok. He now teaches Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language to area adults. At the UUFP, he teaches Sunday School and chairs the Committee on Ministry.
