“Expanding the Mission”
Guest Speaker Rev. Jaimie Dingus
The last phrase of the UU Church of Huntsville’s mission statement is “to let people know ‘we are here’ and that we welcome diversity.” For the UUCH that means part of our responsibilty as a liberal religious community in Alabama is to share who we are and to be loud and known in the community, so we are learning how to do just that from our more evangelical neighbors. UUCH’s Rev. Jaimie will share lessons from her church, and wonder with us about how spreading word of the UUFP can help us grow in wonder, connect in love, engage in service and inspire generosity!
The Rev. Jaimie Dingus (she/her) is starting her fourth year as the settled minister of the UU Church of Huntsville in Alabama. She grew up at the UUFP and credits the UUFP with helping her realize her call to ministry. Jaimie has a BA in Religious Studies from Boston University and an MDiv from Harvard Divinity School. Most recently she served our Unitarian Universalist Association as a member of the Presidential Search Committee. She lives in Madison AL with her partner Will, her dog Clementine and cat Simone. In her free time, you can find Jaimie trying new recipes, playing board games and being the religion and pop culture expert for her trivia group!
