A new program developed by the Rev. AJ van Tine & the Rev. Lisa Garcia-Sampson March 11 & 25, April 8  & 22, May 13 & 27, 2021 (second and fourth Thursdays) 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom. Facilitated by Prof. Rebecca Wheeler & the Rev. Andrew Clive Millard As Unitarian Universalists we are called to a free and responsible search for truth and meaning within the context of a theologically diverse and pluralistic faith community. Using the stories of our own lives, we will explore how we use sacred language to make meaning and navigate how to put our languages of personal belief into dialogue with others. Participants will engage in group activities, write credo statements, partner up for discussion, and more! Goals: Understand and work through our personal relationships with certain sacred/religious words. Transform and breathe new life into these words so that they can function either as spiritual resources in your own life or as meaningful terms your co-religionists use and you understand. Create space to make personal meaning and create personal credos within community and covenant. Come to learn about and engage with the beliefs and spiritual language of others. Develop the tools of translation (between religious languages) so we may more fully live into our pluralist covenant.
