VICCP James River Chapter virtual SPRING MEETING The VICPP James River Chapter will be holding its Spring Meeting on March 15, at 12pm to 1pm on zoom. We will hear from VICPP Director Kim Bobo on how VICPP initiatives faired in just completed Virginia General Assembly. Also, Shane Claibourne co-founder of RawTools will join us to talk about the April 22, 2023, event to be held here in Newport News where we will hear from gun violence victims and have a blacksmith turn a gun into a Garden tool. Healing Wounded Communities by Disarming Hearts, Forging Peace and Cultivating Justice: Hosted by VICPP James River Chapter on Wednesday, March 15, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Featuring special guest speakers Kim Bobo, Executive Director of VICPP, will provide an overview on VICPP’s legislative priorities during the 2023 General Session, and what the focus will be moving forward. Shane Claiborne, author of “Beating Guns Hope for People Weary of Violence” renowned activist, recipient of MLK Center’s 2022 Social Justice Award, and founder of Raw Tools Philadelphia, will speak about an April Raw Tools event in our area, bringing hope and healing to our community as we address gun violence.
