On December 17 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., all are welcome to an outdoor labyrinth of light. Since only one person can come at a time, please come when you are able between 7:00 and 9:00! Please dress for the weather and wear your mask. If you would like to sit in meditation before or after walking the labyrinth, please bring a camp chair, and if you will be there at 9:00 when the labyrinth is closed, please bring something to jingle! There will be one person unmasked when the labyrinth is opened at 7:00 and one person unmasked when the labyrinth is closed at 9:00. On December 18 at 7:00 p.m. (Zoom room opens at 6:30 p.m.), all are welcome to our Zoom Sabbat! For link, see EarthRising’s Facebook page events or email earthrising@uufp.org. We’ll be led in a Reiki meditation, so eat lightly before the event. Some people with heart issues may have difficulty during Reiki. If it rains December 17, we will switch the order of events. For those of us who cannot join an onsite or virtual gathering, we can still appreciate the beauty and meaning of the Ritual. The Winter Solstice, when our Sun reaches the “still point” in the South, creates the longest night and shortest day of the year. This astronomical phenomenon has been venerated and celebrated throughout time, by many different civilizations. Join EarthRising as we celebrate the Longest night of the Year, the arrival of Winter, and the return of the Light, as days begin to grow longer. This is an open planning session to all of good will. We often state that the “Real Magic” takes place at our Planning sessions, as insights and ideas spark, kindle, and grow into inspiration and creation. The Yule Ritual will be celebrated on Friday, December 17, 2021 also at 7:00 p.m., in the Sanctuary building. A potluck feast and social time will follow the Ritual. EarthRising strives to be inclusive, fun and safe for all ages and abilities, respectful of the Earth and all her creations, and to provide meaningful opportunities to experience the mysteries of the Universe. Blessed be!
