Panel Discussion on “Christian” Nationalism
Sunday October 9th
Join us on Sunday October 9th for a community potluck meal and panel discussion on “Christian” Nationalism: what it is, why it harms both American democracy and the Beloved Community, and what we can do about it. This public event takes place in the UUFP Sanctuary Building, with the community potluck meal starting at 5:30pm and the panel discussion starting at 6:30pm. The moderator is UUFP President and CNU Professor of English, Rebecca Wheeler, with esteemed guest panelists from Pastoring the City representing diverse Christian traditions: the Rev. Phillip H. Shearin of the Peninsula Ministry Partnership; the Rev. Anne Kirchmier of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church; the Rev. Dr. John W. Herbst of the Peninsula Baptist Association; and the Rev. Michael D Burnett of Grafton Christian Church and Flourish (formerly United Campus Ministries) CNU.
